Ohio’s Sweetest Tradition Expands to 195 Stops July 15, 2026
Originally launched in 2018 with just 15 stops, the Ohio Ice Cream Trail has grown into a beloved summer tradition. This year, 49 new locations join 146 returning favorites, bringing the trail to a record 195 stops.
Working alongside county convention and visitors bureaus across the state, TourismOhio selected shops that serve Ohio-made ice cream or have become longtime staples of their local communities.
The complete trail is available online and as a printable interactive guide at Ohio.org.
Our take written by I Ate Ohio
The Ohio Ice Cream Trail is TourismOhio's statewide list, chosen with county visitors bureaus. The state's release, quoted above, counts 195 stops, 49 of them new, with shops picked because they serve Ohio-made ice cream or have become longtime local staples. Our table holds the 191 stop-and-town pairs we could match in the printable guide, across 142 towns; the guide notes that some stops have multiple locations.
The guide prints a shop name and a town for each stop, and nothing more, so hours, seasons and addresses come from the shops themselves. The release describes the trail as a summer tradition; the guide prints no hours or seasons for the stops.
Our plain-language reading of the bureau's words quoted on this page. It adds no facts of its own.
